Age UK Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly was established in 1972 and is the leading independent charity in Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly working to improve the wellbeing of people in later life.

Our mission is to provide support, products and services to older people that promotes independence, control and choice. Also to provide support to local communities so that they might offer sustainable solutions to individuals and families. Our living well approach promotes person centred thinking and is about supporting the individual to live the life they want to, to the best of their ability.

Our mission is to provide support, products and services to older people that promotes independence, control and choice.   2. Our befriending service can change lives! An individual that was once feeling isolated and alone, can have a purpose, feel needed, build a new network of friends and regain a busy social life through the support of a volunteer.

  3. If you need a little help around the house, we offer an affordable homecare service. This service is tailored to your needs and can provide household cleaning, bed making, shopping, or simply staying with you to allow your carer to go out.

  4. Being sociable and independent often depends on being mobile. We operate a voluntary car and minibus service that can pick you up from your door, and take you to any social or medical appointment, and home again. A small charge will be made for this service.

  5. We can signpost to third parties for help to keep you independent and connect you to the community using our Cornwall Link mapping service. This is primarily a telephone based service, however drop-ins to our Truro office are also available

  6. Our Information & Advice volunteers can arrange to visit you in order to help with the understanding and completion of Benefit application forms. For example Attendance Allowance, Blue Badge etc. Our volunteers are unable to give financial or legal advice.

  7. A great way to learn new skills and have fun with companions. We have four centres in Cornwall- St Austell, Falmouth, and Newquay. Each centre offers a warm welcome in addition to group and one to one activities and exercise classes, entertainment and trips out, personal care, and escorted transport.
