Our aim is to inform, guide and support children and young people to manage the impact of death in their lives and enable them to cope with death as a life event and manage their grief and reactions to the loss.

Balloons deliver free bereavement support for children, young people and young adults by:

- Assessing the child's/young persons/young adults level of need.
- Offering one-to-one support rather than group work and advice to the children, young people and young adults in a safe environment, this could be in the home or at school/college/university.
- Offering group support and activity days supervised by professionals, supported by trainined volunteers.
- Providing excellent, professional training to enable volunteers to develop and increase their skills.
- Offering training to teachers, health workers, probation service etc. to support bereaved children, young people, and young adults in their familiar environments.
- Offering pre-bereavement support to families of loved ones with a life-limiting condition.
- Providing advice on appropriate resources for families, children, young people and young adults.
