North Devon Sunrise

North Devon Sunrise is a community support organisation, primarily focusing on the needs of people from Minority Ethnic (BME) Groups.

North Devon Sunrise supports the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in North Devon and Torridge including victims of domestic abuse, hate crime, racism, refugees, asylum seekers and individuals who suffer from disadvantage due to social, cultural, language and religious barriers.

North Devon Sunrise provides advocacy, confidential support accessing other services and training workshops. We also organise events to promote diversity in North Devon and Torridge.

  1. We provide free and confidential support and help to individuals who have experienced crime, discrimination or diasadvantage due to race, culture, religion, gender, sexuality or language barriers. We can provide support even if the crime has not been reported to the police.

  2. If you have been assaulted we can provide free support in a confidential and non-judgemental environment. We can provide this support even if the crime has not been reported to the police

  3. North Devon Sunrise can support you if have difficulty accessing practical support or access to services. We provide free, confidential support, information and advocacy.

  4. Being burgled can make people feel unsafe in their own home and dealing with the effects of a burglary can be stressful and complicated. North Devon Sunrise can provide support, information advocacy and support accessing other services to help an individual deal with the practical aspects and feel safer in their own home following the burglary

  5. Crime against a business is a distressing event. To help individuals move forward following the crime we can provide support, advocacy and help accessing other services.

  6. If you are experiencing debt/finance problems or you are having difficulty applying for benefits we can support you by providing free, confidential support, advocacy and help to access other services.

  7. If you have experienced criminal damage we can provide support, advocacy and help to access other services. The crime does not need to have been reported to the police for us to provide support.

  8. If you have experienced domestic violence or abuse we can provide free, confidential support and help you access other services. We support both women and men who have experienced domestic violence/abuse. Support is available even if the crime has not been reported to the police.

  9. If you have experienced fraud North Devon Sunrise can provide you with information, support, advocacy and help you access other services. The support we provide is free and confidential.

  10. We provide free and confidential support to individuals who have experienced harrassment or stalking. We can provide advocacy and support accessing other services.

  11. North Devon Sunrise provides a range of services and activities which can support you to access education, employment or training opportunities. We provide free, support, information and advocacy. We also run two English classes (ESOL) a week and organise confidence building training sessions. All our training is free and held locally.

  12. If you have experienced road traffic crime we can provide support, advocacy and help to access other services. The crime does not need to have been reported to the police for us to provide support.

  13. North Devon Sunrise provides free and confidential advocacy. We can support and enable you to access services, explore options and choices available to you, promote your rights and express your concerns.

  14. Experiencing a robbery can make you feel unsafe when carrying out day-to-day activities. North Devon Sunrise can provide support, information, advocacy and support accessing other services to help an individual deal with the practical aspects and move forward following the robbery.

  15. If you have been experienced rural crime we can provide free support in a confidential and non-judgemental environment. We can provide this support even if the crime has not been reported to the police.

  16. If you have experienced sexual violence we can provide free support in a confidential and non-judgemental environment. We can help you access other services and provide advocacy. We can provide this support even if the crime has not been reported to the police

  17. If you have experienced the theft of a vehicle or theft from a vehicle we can provide support, advocacy and help to access other services. The crime does not need to have been reported to the police for us to provide support.

  18. North Devon Sunrise can support you if have difficulty accessing services and finding suitable accommodation or housing. We provide free, confidential support, information and advocacy.

  19. North Devon Sunrise can support you on issues surrounding family life by providing free, confidential support, information and advocacy. We also organise opportunities for individuals and families to come together and socialise in the local community.

  20. North Devon Sunrise can support you if have difficulty accessing local services relating to your physical or mental well being. We provide free, non-judgemental and confidential support, information and advocacy.

  21. North Devon Sunrise can support you if you would like to talk to someone about how you are feeling. We will listen to how you are feeling in a comfortable, confidential and non-judgemental environment. We can also provide information, advocacy and support you to access other services.

  22. North Devon Sunrise can provide free, confidential support, information, advocacy and support accessing local services. We run two English classes (ESOL) each week and organise training sessions to help build an individual's confidence and skills. There are opportunities for people who feel socially isolated to come and meet new people in a friendly and relaxed environment. We also provide volunteering opportunities and organise local events to promote diversity and community integegration.
