Operation Emotion 2

Operation Emotion 2 (Oe2) is a Plymouth based user led voluntary organisation that operates, encourages and develops services for adult male survivors of sexual abuse, linking with specialist organisations where appropriate. Our goal is to develop a range of self help initiatives that enable men to engage in a process of recovery. We also work with other agencies to promote best practice leading to an improvement in services.

Oe2 provides a range of self help initiatives that enable men, who have been sexually abused, to engage in a process of repair and recovery. We also operate a weekly Support Group and provide a 10 week Education Therapy programme that focuses on the roots of abuse promoting a greater understanding of past experiences to encourage and enable healing. Our other area of work is to develop social projects with other organisations that engage men who are marginalised by their experiences of sexual abuse. We offer short intensive self help courses that help people to tell their stories in positive ways, which can involve men as a participant or producer. We also work with other agencies to help promote best practice leading to an improvement in services. Part of our brief is to offer training to staff in other agencies that may work with men who may have been sexually abused. We link with specialist organisations and signpost men to other services and aim to promote a greater understanding of sexual abuse in society through healthy debate and by sharing reliable information that challenges myths and stereotypes.
