SALT South West

An organisation initially formed in 1986 as a support group registered as a charity in 1992 to provide listening therapy to survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

We provide a listening therapy for both male and females over the age 16 to alleviate the suffering of people who have experienced sexual abuse in their childhood. After an initial assessment, when two listeners are available, a series of 7 sessions commence, followed by further groups of sessions as necessary with evaluations made regularly.
A Skills course of 4 is run, after assessment whilst people are waiting for their regular sessions to commence.
This is a free service although donations to help the work continue are always welcome.
For the women there is also a Coffee Drop In available monthly for clients after initial assessment.
Our website provides fuller details and we ask that people contact us themselves. GPs, mental health teams are amongst those who recommend our service.
